Planet Rating SAS is a private independent microfinance rating agency based in Paris . Created in 1999, Planet Rating is today the most global microfinance rating agency, with over 300 missions conducted in 60 countries. With offices in Paris, Lima, Dakar, Kampala and in the Middle East , Planet Rating offers unparallel global and independent coverage to the microfinance industry worldwide with 15 experienced analysts providing rating services in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic. Planet Rating’s mission is to offer quality rating and evaluation services to increase the microfinance institutions’ transparency and access to financing. Through its work, Planet Rating contributes to the strengthening of the microfinance industry, a fundamental development tool.

About the Job:

The Office Director will be working in a dynamic and international environment with a team of microfinance rating specialists. He/She will lead the opening process of our new office in and will be involved in the promotion of our services in the region. He/She will be responsible for the coordination and execution of rating missions for microfinance institutions primarily in Asia, but might also be called to conduct missions in Africa, Eastern Europe and the MENA region. Initial training will be provided in Paris and through rating missions performed with experienced analysts in several of the above-mentioned regions. We highly welcome career switchers and professionals from banking and financial services or rating industries.

Establishing our new office in Philippines, regarding legal and administrative issues.

Leading the strategic and operational planning of the office, in coordination with Paris headquarters.

Designing and coordinating Planet Rating marketing strategy in Asia .

Managing a growing team of local Senior and Junior Analysts.

Reporting to the Senior Management Team of Planet Rating in Paris .

Prepare, organize and execute microfinance ratings.

Validate and ensure the work quality of other analysts.

At least five years previous experience in microfinance, auditing, accounting, financial analysis, credit rating or finance/banking.

Experience in microfinance in Asia will be an asset.

Detailed-oriented with strong ability to analyze, synthesize and write analytically.

Strong marketing skills, with a focus on development of new business and partnerships.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Good team work skills.

Good command of English, both written and oral. Knowledge of French is preferred.

Good command of Excel and MS Office software.

Willing and able to travel to all Asian countries and to other developing countries at least one week per month

Interest in microfinance and international development.
