Planet Finance is searching for microfinance experts for technical assistance activities.

Under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator and/or the relevant Country Director, the Senior Microfinance Expert will be in charge of:

• Coordinating and executing technical assistance (TA) and advisory programs across xxx, ensuring high-quality standards, timely deliverable and client satisfaction
• Developing PlaNet Finance’s TA activities and business lines: identifying needs, designing appropriate programs or concepts; setting up partnerships with key institutions, identifying financing opportunities
• Working in teams with other experts, training and coaching junior experts, building a track-record of successful projects, developing industry expertise and specializations
• Drafting of technical assistance proposals

• 5+ years of operational experience, strong technical expertise and proven managerial skills. He/she must have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the microfinance sector and a commitment to our poverty alleviation mission. Specific requirements include:
• A strong microfinance expertise with a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior operational/field positions within MFIs and/or consulting in the banking or microfinance sector and/or in a support organization in the microfinance sector. Demonstrated experience and success developing microfinance institutions, new products and processes.
• Deep knowledge in SME Banking or financial sector of developing country.
• Deep knowledge in project management.
• Financial and Banking background.
• Focused on quality and client-satisfaction, with the capacity to ask the right questions, identify solutions and implement them. Detail-oriented, focused and organized. The ability to anticipate, prioritize and manage tasks in a fast changing environment.
• Experience in a role requiring the ability to build and manage a team, mentor staff in order to support them in leveraging their strengths; willing to both give and accept feedback about performance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to create persuasive, clear and concise communications to different publics. Strong public presentation, listening, and diplomatic skills, as well as the ability to develop positive and productive relationships.
• A professional demeanor and the capacity to interact with various types of actors (international donors, banks, NGOs, micro-entrepreneurs, governments) and skills to adapt quickly to different environments and cultural contexts. A team player, he/she can easily interact successfully with all levels of staff in a growing and multicultural organization.

• The highest personal and professional integrity
• Fluent in English, French is a plus. Chinese, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese is appreciated.
